Jessica Wentz is a Senior Regulatory Specialist in the Operations department at Phoenix Energy, bringing over 11 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She began her career in utility locating and GIS mapping, supporting infrastructure projects for major operators throughout the Bakken, before transitioning into regulatory compliance as a Regulatory Specialist at Grayson Mill Energy. She then took on a leadership role managing a utility locating division for two years—during which she doubled the customer base while overseeing daily operations, personnel, and project execution—before joining Phoenix Energy. Her expertise spans regulatory compliance and permitting across North Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming, as well as regulatory research, problem solving, and process improvement.
Jessica is drawn to the variety and complexity her role offers—she thrives on researching regulations, untangling difficult problems, and finding ways to make existing processes more efficient. At Phoenix Energy, she is focused on expanding her knowledge across additional operating basins and growing her expertise in environmental compliance and other regulatory disciplines, with a goal of continuing to support the company’s long-term success.
Originally from Onaway, Michigan and later Sheridan, Wyoming, Jessica has been married for over 15 years and is the proud mother of three children. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, cooking, camping, and spending time together as a family whenever the opportunity arises.
